This website is run by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
  • some links do not include text as to what you should expect, for example the Twitter links from the third party plugin Elfsight
  • some title levels do not follow a hierarchy e.g. H1, H2, H3 - this is due to the component based nature of some pages
  • colour contrast is under 4.5:1 for the Elfsight plug in that links to the Twitter feed
